WILD WANDERERS APOTHECARY

Wild Wanderers Apothecary

‘Beyond’ organic, small batch skincare and make up

Here at Harlequin, we are very excited to be stocking high quality ‘beyond organic’ skincare and make up from Wild Wanderers Apothecary. Based in Sonoma county and Michigan, their products are homemade in small batches, using only ethically sourced ingredients of the highest quality, primarily from within the USA.

Much of the ingredients used in their products is ‘beyond organic’, being either wild foraged, or home grown in their organic apothecary garden.

With a background in chemistry, environmental science and horticulture, the team at Wild Wanderers process and formulate everything themselves, using whole plant extraction, and essential oil and fragrance free.

Grassfed organic tallow - Their skincare and make up products are formulated with ingredients designed not only to moisturize but also to promote healthy skin for all ages. Tallow, among other things, is closer to our own natural skin oils than plant based moisturizers, meaning it is more efficiently absorbed into the skin. It is known to be non comedogenic meaning it does not clog pores, and is naturally high in vitamin E which stimulates collagen production. It also contains fatty acids such as stearic acid which is known to promote healthy skin.

If you do prefer a plant based moisturizer, Wild Wanderers also make a beautiful delicate floral serum, using only organic herbs and flowers and consciously sourced cold pressed oils.

Using all organic, pure ingredients, what make their products particularly special is what they do not contain -

  • No harmful phthalates - known hormone disrupters

  • No petroleum products - often used in fragrances

  • No preservatives/shelf stabilizer chemicals - often carcinogens

  • No alcohol products - often used in skin products so that they dry on the skin quickly

  • No chemically processed seed oils - RBD oils - RBD stands for refined, bleached, deodorized. If you purchase oil and it does not say ‘cold pressed’ on the bottle, it is likely it has been through this process of refinement. Often used in this process is a chemical called hexane - a known neurotoxin. Often the process strips the oils of any natural color or flavor which is then added artificially after the process. Unfortunately most cooking oils unless stated to be cold pressed have been through this process.

They are a seasonal apothecary, working with the freshest available ingredients.

For more indepth information about their process and formulations find them at www.wildwanderersapothecary and on Instagram @wildwanderersapothecary
