🚗 🛵 🛻 Traffic Update! - Take Moscow road to Duncans Mills and the Coast...

With the winter storms at New Year came traffic disruption. A section of River road HWY 116 - the main thoroughfare along the Russian River to Duncans Mills and the Sonoma coast, was lost into the river, on the west bound side. As a result there has been further disruption to the flow of traffic, adding to the already one line traffic lighted construction on River road just to the West of Guerneville.

However, for those still wanting to come out to the coast, there is a lesser know road, known well to locals , that is a straight shot all the way to Duncans Mills from Monte Rio. The road is called Moscow road, and follows along the southern banks of the Russian river. It is a beautiful road that was once the main trainline out to Duncans Mills.

To take this road, take the bridge to the southern side of the river at Monte Rio. Turn right at the stop sign, drive on past Bartletts grocery store and take that first right onto Moscow road. A beautiful easy 7 minute drive will open out to the bridge at Duncans Mills, right in the heart of the village. (Please note this is a short 7 minute drive, but it is a residential area so please drive carefully).
